I purchased the Aurora LightPad MAX, and I love it! I have been using it for around six months now. I am an early riser, so it's important to me to keep a consistent circadian rhythm throughout the year. In the winter, I use the light pad during my morning devotions to get my morning light, since the sunrise is ~2 hours later than in the summer. In the summer, I use the light pad while I'm doing my morning routine, before going outside to get more light. It helps me stay consistent, and I'm thankful to know I'm supporting my circadian rhythm and overall health. My sister recommended this company to me. She has the smaller version (mini), which she appreciates, but she suggested the MAX would be even more effective. I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others!
I use my Alaska Northern Lights Aurora LightPad MAX daily and it has been instrumental at helping me change my sleep. I sit in front of it every morning while doing something stimulating like playing Sudoku, working a crossword puzzle, or reading the daily news. It's truly been life-changing! Kudos to a well-made, sturdy product that actually does what it promotes.
February through April can be pretty dark and miserable here in Chicago, and I've been feeling it more each year -- especially working from home. After the first dark day in January, I knew I had to go on the offensive and bought an Aurora LightPad MAX. I don't use it daily, but on days I know it's going to be bad, I use it for 30 minutes first thing in the morning while I'm in the kitchen and/or dining room. It seems to help!

4-1-26 Update—I’m using Aurora LightPad MAX™ year round now.
Getting bright light in the morning and warm light in the evening helps with me with mood and sleep. I use smart bulbs in my lamps and fixtures to have bright cool light morning, neutral light afternoon, warm dim light evenings. I use a warm filters on all my devices in the evening to block blue light. My internal clock wakes me up at 8:20am every morning regardless of the time I go to sleep. Lighting variations throughout the day/night are essential to your sleep rhythm.
Makes very high quality bright lights. Recommend the LightPad Max if you could use some more light in your life

I liked the Aurora LightPad MAX, it helped me shift my sleep schedule for a new job. I had no schedule at all and.. well I kinda have one now. Definitely would like it to have a physical switch/push button instead of touch sensor but that's minor
Love my lamp. I got the Aurora Max. Not for winter blues stuff, but rather sleep. I use it every morning for 15-30 minutes, before hitting the gym. It's BRIGHT, it's silent, and it's easy to use. I think it makes a big difference in getting me going each morn.
I got a Aurora LightPad MAX and it's truly amazing; at the highest setting, it is extraordinary bright, I was able to put it at the far corner of my desk while still enjoying the benefits and retaining desk space. More importantly, while I tried a lamp before, this is the first winter in many years where I didn't feel the gloom, thanks to the Alaskan Northern Lights. Highly recommend, your happiness and energy during the winter months is worth every dollar
I bought the max and it sure came in better condition that my Amazon packages do. Nice to have some extra info that you wouldn't get buying on Amazon.
Alaska Northern Lights(ANL) has the products and the solid experience that I need, in this niche market of light therapy. My doctor suggested that light therapy might be a good supplement for my winter blues and she printed out information on simple guidelines for use. I found ANL during my online research. They have been responsive and caring in all communication.
I have been using the Aurora LightPad for the past year with very good results. You need electricity available and need to treat the item carefully (for instance the stand may get shifted slightly. Gently realign if needed and no problems persist) The device has 3 light levels, and off, on the same button. When I rush through the set-up, I get mixed up which setting I have come to, sometimes. Learning to treat myself and the device with care is good for me, too. I have found this device to be dependable I hope you find help with ANL products.
I gave a 4/5 review due to the high initial investment but I am appreciating the value overall.
My PCP recommended the Alaska Northern Lights product because of the quality and durability. I bought one this Fall and it has really helped me. I highly recommend Aurora LightPad MAX.
Bringing “sunshine” to the winter blues!
Alaska Northern lights is, in my opinion, the best commercially available option during the winter months. I have purchased several of their products over the years, all of which were helpful.
Most recently, I purchased the LED LightPad. This is by far my favorite device of this sort. It’s powerful, lightweight, and highly portable. I find it works best when connected to a gooseneck stand. But even without the stand, it is easy to use; and I travel with it during the winter wherever I go. In addition to making a great product, the people who work at Alaska Northern Lights are a pleasure to talk to.
In this era of fake, positive online reviews, please note that I have written this review solely because I believe in the product, and I want to share the relief it has brought me. This is the one you want!

I have the Aurora LightPad Max and it has been amazing! I’ve suffered for years and this light has significantly helped. I wish I would have ordered it sooner! Also, the customer service is great, they respond very quickly and answered all my questions. Highly recommend!!
We bought the Alaska Northern Lights Mini for my mother-in-law. It’s a compact design that enables placement between you and your keyboard, when seated at a desk typing. This allows you to work while you use it. Likewise, it can be easily placed below you sight line as you watch morning TV. The 10,000 lux machine meets criteria for 30-60 minute sessions at 24-30 inches from user. The power of the unit allows for placement an extra 6 inches than most units. Hopefully, ANL can produce a battery operated unit so you aren’t tethered to an outlet.

Amazing... well-built and portable, it fits in a laptop case and I love the fact that I can choose between three brightness settings to suit my environment. I highly, HIGHLY recommend spending the extra money. Amazing customer support too!
It is a great light
The first thing that drew me to the Aurora LightPad MAX was the size of the light. As you can see, it is perfect to set up on my side table, and makes it easier to read…or play a little sudoku. For such a small light, it emits a lot of light, which makes it easier when I’m using the Aurora LightPad MAX in the morning. I would definitely recommend buying one!
I was surprised at how easy it was to use the Aurora LightPad MAX. It’s small and compact, making it easy for me to use anywhere in my house, and I couldn’t believe how bright it was. It is a great alternative when there isn’t sunshine.

I bought the lightpad to help with my winter blues. We had a long and dark winter and I was ready to try anything to make a positive impact. A few points I liked about it: It’s small and easy to move around. I like the easy buttons on front, which adjusts the brightness. I also liked how it had an attached, adjustable stand. Great product.

If you want a portable small but effective lightbox which is the recommended 10,000 Lux, I recommend this product highly. Purchased it this week and have just ordered another power cord so I do not have to transport cord from one room or place to another. Customer service prompt and courteous. Beth is sending out power cord today for reasonable price. I have two friends that have looked at the light box and are seriously considering purchasing it. Living here in Maine the shorter days and cold Winters really have an effect on one's mood. I am a retired therapist and purchased 10 years ago a larger light box that was bulky and no longer practical as I have a small condo. Let's stay in the light.!

I have suffered for many years and had heard about light therapy but thought it was just another way for someone to make a buck. I had spoken with my family physician and was told to try it. So I didn’t just want to buy something that would probably be costly, so after doing a lot of research found on the web Alaskan Northern Lights looked at what others where saying, so I purchased the Aurora LightPad Max !!!!! “WOW” I have started to notice a big change in less then a week. I would definitely recommend this to anyone no questions asked. The warranty speaks for its self, I did not see any other brands offering a warranty like this. Thank you Northern Lights!!!! The light is bright and white, and helpful to my mood. My only complaint is that the angle the unit sits at makes placement difficult. I wish there were a stand for it. Otherwise I am very pleased with the unit. It’s a good size and seems sturdy.

I have been using LightPad for about three years and it has helped me deal with a mental wellness year round, but especially during the winter months. It has made my life so much more livable that I just bought one for a family member in hopes that it might also help her.
We have had the Aurora LightPad Max for 2 weeks now and are very pleased with it. Both my husband and I have used it every morning for 30-40min and within a couple of days we started to see a real difference with mood and energy. I have started waking up naturally about 1-1.5 hrs earlier than I was before we had the light pad. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a hard time in the shorter winter days. We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we noticed a significant, positive change! In addition Alaska Northern Lights has excellent customer service!!

Calling this light "bright" does not even describe it. It is important that you use it in a well lit room. That may sound funny because it is a big bright light, but it is difficult to sit very close to it in a dark room. Your eyes cannot adjust to the rest of the room if you are so close to it when the rest of the room is dark.
I turned it on in a brightly lit room during the middle of the day and it still brightened the room when other lights made no impact.
It is easy to use - set down the foot in the back, plug in, and turn on.
As for the light, I did receive a recommendation that it helps your body if the light comes from above your eye level and that is a challenge with this unit. It does not have a mounting bracket to allow you to put it on an arm. If you put it on a shelf above eye level, the foot does not allow you to angle it downward toward you.
Overall, I am very impressed with the light.
Great light, and starting your day after the sun goes down. I was using the mini, which works great as well, but as the web site's description states, bigger is better. This model casts a broader beam so the user is more likely to sit in an optimal angle. This panel does not get hot either. Would buy one of these every year if I had to.
