Insurance Coverage

When it comes to buying a light therapy box, many people wonder if they can use medical equipment insurance coverage. As an online distributor, we do not work directly with any insurance companies. To find out if the cost of light box therapy equipment is covered, we recommend calling your insurance company directly and giving them our DME code and they will be able to let you know if the full cost or partial cost is covered by your specific plan.

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) code: E0203

This code is good for all 3 of the light boxes we manufacture: Aurora LightPad Mini, Aurora LightPad Max and NorthStar 10,000.

If your insurance company is going to cover the cost of a new light box, you will purchase the unit directly from us and then go through insurance for reimbursement.

In order to get insurance reimbursement, there are 3 documents you will need to send your insurance company:

  1. The sales receipt from your therapy light box order (gets emailed to you at time of purchase)
  2. A prescription from your doctor
  3. Our Insurance Form that has been filled our and signed by your doctor (can be found on our website under the ‘Our Products’ tab)
