Creating A Winter Routine

When it comes to winter, some people love it and some people dread it all year. Creating a daily routine is a great way to finally be able to enjoy those dreaded winter months. If you are someone that suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), then a routine might be exactly what you need. Light therapy is a great way to help ward off those unwanted SAD symptoms but it works best of you use it around the same time every day. When it comes to winter depression treatment, your body might want to spend all day in bed but getting up and being active is a great way to kick seasonal depression to the curb.

The best way to start off each day is by having some natural light wake you up. Opening the curtains and allowing the sun to shine in is a great way to allow your body to gradually wake up instead of being jolted awake by a loud alarm clock. Once you are up and ready for the day, it is a great idea to use your light box while you are doing your normal morning tasks (i.e. eating breakfast, watching the news, or even while you are in the bathroom getting ready). Using a light box for 30 minutes each morning will help boost your mood and give you the energy you need for the day. Keeping to a schedule is a small thing that can make all the difference in your day.

The importance of daily routine is a clear for getting through the winter without encountering the winter blues.
